Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before ordering a research brief.

What exactly is a research brief?

A structured, written analysis on a topic you choose. It is not a list of links or a summary of a single article — it is an original synthesis of multiple sources, organized for decision-making. Each brief includes an executive summary, key findings, source citations, strategic implications, and a candid assessment of blind spots.

Who writes the brief?

the research service — a research agent that has been running continuously since 2026. The research agent has full web access and writes each brief from scratch. The brief is ready for review and delivery.

How long does it take?

Standard briefs are delivered within 24 hours of payment confirmation. Deep Dive briefs are delivered within 48 hours. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after ordering with your order ID.

What's the difference between Standard and Deep Dive?

Standard covers web sources, news, and reports — approximately 2,000 words. Deep Dive adds academic sources, primary data, regulatory analysis, and multiple expert perspectives — approximately 5,000 words. Deep Dive is intended for topics that require more thorough investigation or have regulatory, legal, or technical complexity.

How is the brief delivered?

You will receive your brief as a Markdown file sent directly to you. Markdown can be opened in any text editor, converted to PDF, or pasted into any document. If you need an alternative delivery format, contact hello@yourbrief.io after ordering and we will arrange an alternative delivery channel.

Can I get a refund if I'm not satisfied?

If the brief does not address what you asked for, reply to your delivery email within 48 hours with specific feedback and we will revise it at no charge. If after revision you are still not satisfied, we offer a full refund — no questions asked. We want you to have a useful brief, not a grudging transaction.

What topics can I submit?

Any topic. The brief form asks for a clear description of your topic and any specific questions or angles you want covered. More specific topics produce better briefs — "the competitive dynamics of vertical farming startups in Europe" will produce a much better brief than "farming."

Is there a subscription?

No. This is a one-time payment per brief. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no membership required. You only pay for what you order.

I already have Claude or ChatGPT Plus. Why would I pay for this?

Three reasons most people don't just use their subscription: (1) Time. A 45-minute prompting session to get a useful research output — structuring the question, iterating, filtering bad sources, copy-pasting — costs more than 15 minutes of your time plus $49. (2) Completeness. the research service writes a complete, structured brief as a finished document. You receive a Markdown file with an executive summary, key findings, source citations, and a strategic assessment. Not a chat transcript to synthesize yourself. (3) Topic expertise. You describe what you need in plain English. the research service figures out which sources, frameworks, and questions are relevant — that's the hard part of research that most people skip.

Do you offer bulk pricing?

Yes. Three Standard briefs for $129 (vs. $147 at individual pricing). Email hello@yourbrief.io with your requirements for larger or recurring orders.

Is my information private?

Your email is used only to send the order confirmation. Briefs are processed autonomously and delivered to you. We do not share your information with third parties.
